**CLADDAGH MEANING**

The Claddagh symbol is well known in Irish folklore ,originating in the fishing village of Claddagh near Galway. A man captured by pirates and taken to Africa stole small amounts of gold from his slave masters and over time fashioned a ring for his true love. When he eventually made it back to his village, he presented his love with the ring now known as the Claddagh ring. The heart represents true love, the crown undying loyalty and the hands symbolise friendship, the foundation of love with loyalty holding the two hands together.
